Chronocide, a YA time travel novel by Jenica Jessen

Chronocide

My current project is a young adult science fiction novel, for which I’m currently seeking representation. CHRONOCIDE is the story of Jessie Corbin, a 17-year-old whose weekend gets off to a bad start when some maniac tries to kill her. This isn’t one of the high school bullies she normally picks fights with, either. His name is Steven Thorne, he’s a time traveler, and he’s come from thirty years in the future to get revenge for something she hasn’t even done yet. In three decades, her adult self is going to arrest him—unjustly, or so he claims. Jessie’s pretty sure he deserved it, and either way, she has no intention of dying tonight.

But as Jessie tries to evade Thorne, she runs into another time traveler: a version of herself from about eight hours in the future. Minutes after her arrival, the future version ends up getting shot… by the current one. Jessie might not know anything about time travel, but she does know that killing her future self was probably not a good idea.

Thanks to this epic screw-up, she has eight hours to figure out how to rewrite the future, revisit the past, and avoid blowing a hole in the space-time continuum. Also, she’s going to have to stay ahead of Thorne, who wants to kill her himself. He isn't about to give up just because she's already dead.
